Protecting Kratom Consumers

GMP Program

The American Kratom Association developed the AKA GMP Standards Program in an effort to enhance the safety of kratom products offered to consumers.  As manufactures are approved as AKA GMP Qualified, they will be included in a list on this page

To qualify, manufacturers must commit to following strict manufacturing and processing standards, which will then need to be verified by a pre-approved, independent auditor.

Truth in Labeling

The AKA strongly opposes unscrupulous vendors who use illegal health claims to increase sales of kratom products. This new self-regulation program will encourage consumers to report potential marketing violations so that the FDA can investigate and, when appropriate, take needed enforcement actions against kratom vendors who use impermissible health claims to mislead consumers about the actual benefits of using this otherwise safe food product.

This new program is a valuable addition to the current AKA vendor GMP program that requires participating vendors to adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and to submit to an independent 3rd party audit to verify compliance

American Kratom Protectors

The AKA has organized the American Kratom Protectors advocacy group. This is a national grassroots organization that will help lead our advocacy efforts as we fight state bans, share correct information about kratom, and push passage of the Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act.

But we need your help to make this national organization a reality.

We are looking for "Captains" for each State Congressional District. These critical volunteers will be the local organizers who will help in the efforts to reach out to their Congressional Representatives. We need passionate kratom advocates who are willing to work with other kratom supporters in fighting to keep kratom legal
