North Dakota House Judiciary Committee Votes Against HB 1101 Following Strong Opposition Led by the AKA
Bismarck, ND — In a decisive vote, the North Dakota House Judiciary Committee has recommended not passing HB 1101, with a vote of 10-3 against the proposed legislation. This bill, consistent with legislative process in North Dakota, will still proceed to a vote on the House floor. However, the Committee's strong opposition marks a significant victory in the fight to protect consumer rights. "This victory underscores the power of a united community dedicated to defending its rights," stated Mac Haddow Senior Fellow at the AKA, who also spoke at the hearing. "Our fast action and the unwavering support of kratom advocates nationwide have once again proven effective in protecting consumers.
The AKA continues to lead the charge in advocating for the rights of kratom users and ensuring responsible regulation that supports consumer safety without restricting access. As HB 1101 moves to the House floor for further deliberation, the AKA remains vigilant and prepared to continue its advocacy to protect the interests of consumers across the nation.
